This category covers 20th century tickets that permitted entry to station platforms. These curious tickets are almost extinct now or, at least, have transformed into computerised versions since the mid-1990s. Most stations now longer issue them as they have no staff or there are no longer any rules restricting access to the platforms. This category covers the whole of southern England, where I used to ride the trains far and wide and bought a cheap ticket to prove I’d been there. Most of the tickets after 1979 are mine.

My aim is to showcase this type of ephemera, but also to stimulate your own memory and travel stories. Please note I don’t sell tickets to anywhere… although I’ve collected many.
